This Jerry Matthews designed 27-hole facility was awarded Top 10 Places to Play by Golf Digest. 18 of the holes were built in 1996 and the remaining 9 were built in 2005.
Experience
– Successfully manage 27 holes of bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways while implementing strategies
to keep poa annua from establishing.
– Create and lead a successful staff of 18 employees to provide a superb golf course.
– Implemented agronomic practices that have greatly improved conditions and playability: aerifying,
verticuting, topdressing, and hand watering.
– Improved the condition and cleanliness of the maintenance facility for a more productive work environment.
– Increased work production by employee training, inspections, and promoting a team-oriented atmosphere.

The championship Donald Ross golf course at Oakland Hills, ranked #20 in the U.S., and site
of 6 U.S. Opens, 3 PGA Championships, 2 U.S. Senior Opens, 1 U.S. Amateur, and 1 Ryder Cup.
– Responsible for the development and allocation of a $1.2M operating budget and a $120K capital budget.
– Successfully bid and completed various projects with outside contractors, totalling over $200K.
– Provided leadership and mentoring to assistants and turfgrass interns.
– Supervised $250K Rees Jones renovation project of bunkers, tees, and fairways; completed $2.5M
Art Hills North Course renovation the fall of 2013.

18-hole private club designed by Donald Ross, opened in 1926, and ranked #18
in the State of Michigan.
– Managed in-house projects entailing tree planting and removal, addition of gravel cart paths,
and establishment of a 2-acre fescue area.

– Assisted in managing and preparing for 2008 PGA Championship and 2007 British Open Qualifier.
– Involved with implementing labor tracking; analyzed and revised business plan to meet budget.
– Integral in many construction projects, including: $430K post PGA tournament restoration, $650K
Arthur Hills reconstruction of short game and driving range, and $2M Rees Jones renovation of
South Course.
